Xanadu - an idyllic and beautiful place.............

As the dictionary meaning of her name suggests, Xanadu, will be an idyllic, beautiful place.

The interior of this idyllic and beautiful yacht is concealed within a dynamic AWD exterior design where the fast flowing lines of the white hull and superstructure are reminiscent of the soft flowing lines of Ferrari and Lamborgini. The interior design and style of Xanadu has been developed from the Clients love of the world famous hotels of the Italian Riviera. With hotels such as the Cala di Volpe, Romanzinio and Splendido as inspiration, it is obvious that Benetti, the most famous Italian shipyard, should be chosen to build this project. The exterior deck spaces have been a key part of the design, perfectly balancing the exterior and interior features.

The interior arrangement has been continually developed by AWD with the Owner, to maximise the versatility and possibilities for charter. Xanadu will be fully MCA compliant, and able to accommodate a total of 14 guests, split between the Owners cabin, VIP cabin and 5 guest cabins. Due to a unique bedhead feature, all guest cabins are able to switch from doubles to twins without diminishing the overall quality and image of the cabin. The allowance of wardrobe space in each cabin has also been very carefully considered to maximise the comfort for charter guests. A series of service stairs and corridors allow the crew to operate the yacht independently from guest areas ensuring the minimum disruption to the comfort and pleasure of all guests.

The central, and one of the many, impressive features of the interior is the three floor cantilevered floating staircase which rises from lower deck to the upper deck. With hand crafted wrought iron banisters and balconies to each deck, this is without doubt the heart of the yacht, cleverly connecting and transporting guests from the formal arrangement and grand decoration of the lower and main decks to the more informal and relaxed surroundings of the upper deck.

Located in the middle of the lower deck, just forward of the engine room, the full beam VIP suite has unobstructed views from the bedroom on the starboard side, across the 2m wide double bed, through the walk through wardrobe and out to portside across the luxurious ensuite bathroom. The bathroom will have an inlaid marble design in the floor and marble tops to both the sink and large oval bath. Forward of the VIP cabin on the lower deck are four guest cabins, each with double or twin bed arrangement as required, desk, ensuite shower/bath room and ample wardrobe hanging space. Guests will be able to help themselves to chilled drinks from the conveniently located ‘globe’ drinks cabinet in the centre of the staircase rotunda.

Formal dining will take place on the main deck at an oval custom designed dining table for 14, whilst pre and post dinner drinks can be taken in the main lounge, at the bar or on the aft deck. The main lounge is an area suitable for either socialising or working, with custom designed sofa seating for eight on the portside and two independent writing desks either side of a large pop-up plasma screen on the starboard side. At the aft end of the main saloon, is a beautiful raised rotunda area housing the bar and games table. Classic venetian glass wall sconces, with an overhead tented fabric ceiling intensify the grand Italian feel of the main deck, whilst the inlaid parquet flooring, woven leather screens and sliding glass doors seamlessly blend the interior with the exterior aft deck.

The Owners suite is forward on the main deck, and is entered via a grand entrance door lobby, flanked on portside by a floor to ceiling Italian vista mural, and on the starboard side by counterbalanced sliding doors to a day room. The day room has the appearance of a library, with faux books lining the walls that cleverly conceal a door to a shower room aft and wardrobe forward. The sofa in this room, also converts to a day bed or is replaced by a desk, if required, for charter.

The full beam Owners suite is forward of the day room, and the elevated bed rotunda is enclosed by gigantic glazed panoramic windows flooding the suite with natural light. A large sitting room is on the starboard side, and vast bathroom with large oval Jacuzzi bath to port. The lobby of which is flanked by his and hers walk in wardrobes. Marble countertops compliment the inlaid floor design where niches either side house stunning sculptures. Steps flanked by a scrolling wrought iron balustrade lead up to the Owners bedroom dias which incorporates the Owners bed with a huge and very impressive wooden Italian hand carved bedhead, dressing table and sofa. A skylight over the centre of the bed, further floods this area with natural light. This elevated position allows for fantastic panoramic views without leaving the comfort of your own bed. A portside door from this balconied area leads to a private forward terrace for breakfasting and relaxation, again with fantastic views from its elevated position.

Continuing to the top of the central staircase, you arrive at the more informal upper deck. With dragged paint, rather than wood , the much lighter finish is very reflective of the blue seas and skies that Xanadu will be cruising in. The guest cabin on this deck is more informal than those on the lower deck, and can double as a massage/hair styling salon for charter guests if required.

The upper lounge will be used for breakfasting and a central buffet console can be used to lay up self service meals. Relaxed sofa seating is on the starboard side and a games/breakfast table is on port side. A games, or children’s room, is located off the upper saloon which can be sealed off for privacy as required by sliding doors.

The informal dining rotunda is enclosed in floor to ceiling glass sliding doors allowing both interior and exterior dining and almost 300º panoramic views. A skylight above the stone dining table is copied as a glass insert to the table, allowing views of the stunning feature mosaic pattern terrazzo floor beneath.

Access to the expansive sundeck is via a portside floating exterior stair from the aft deck terrace. This arrives at an area for sunloungers, very much a chill out zone and area for complete relaxation. Forward, beneath an electrically operated sliding awning is an exterior dining table for 12, serviced by a starboard side barbeque and buffet. Portside of this within the mast structure is an enclosed gym, with shower and dayhead to starboard. The bar aft of the swimming pool, adds to the relaxed atmosphere on the sundeck. The floor of the swimming pool houses a circular glass skylight which is centered over the main staircase axis, dappling light through the decks of the yacht. A further relaxation zone of sunpads and sofa is located forward on the sundeck.

Xanadu can accommodate up to 16 crew split between cabins/mess and working areas on 2 levels. All crew requirements have been catered for including a very generous mess taking the philosophy ‘ a happy crew, means a happy boat’ to heart.
